Walgreens Food Drive for BFA and Manna

Just a quick heads up. Look for the BFA "food drive" kiosk at your local Walgreens store this month. Eleven area stores have given us permission to place a box and information in each store until the end of the month.

A team of 8 people from all over the US traveled to Haiti on March 1st to purchase and deliver much needed food supplies to the Mountain Faith Orphanage in Saut 'd Eau (pronounced SO-do). These are some photos.

Tueday Night from Haiti

Just a quick note from the field. I'm on a laptop, in the orphanage center. Electricity is from a diesel generator. Internet is from satellite.
Group purchased TONS of food in Santo Domingo. Box truck and minivan went over roads made from river rock. Kidney jarring. Left at 5:30 am. Arrived at 4:30 pm. Group had to stop at border for over an hour to "negotiate" passage. Everyone exhausted. We, kids and adults unloaded ALL the food after we had lunch/supper - yummiest beans & rice I ever ate.… Continue

Going to Haiti

My wife, Diane, and I are flying our of ILM at 7am on Monday. We are going from Atlanta to Santo Domingo, where we will meet up with a native of the Dominican Republic who has been ministering in the states.

Monday we will stay at a local orphanage called Casa de Luz. They are letting us use a 16 foot box truck, which we will pack full of items we are going to purchase in the DR. Eight of us will make the journey into Haiti, about 8 hours by truck and van.
