DESCRIPTION:The Apple Gold Group, franchisee of Applebee’s restauran
 ts in North Carolina, Oklahoma and Arkansas, proudly announces the lau
 nch of its fourth annual March fundraiser in support of The V Foundati
 on for Cancer Research. The event will run from March 3rd through Apri
 l 5th and is held in conjunction with The V Foundation’s annual Show
  Your Spirit!® campaign during the National Collegiate Basketball Tou
 rnaments. Apple Gold’s goal is to raise over $200,000 for cancer res
 earch.\n\nGuests who dine at any of the 51 Apple Gold Applebee’s loc
 ations in North Carolina will be invited to donate $1 or more to The V
  Foundation for Cancer Research. For each $1 donated, guests will be g
 iven a paper basketball to personalize and then hang in the restaurant
 . In the spirit of the tournament season, guests may choose from sever
 al different basketball styles representing UNC, NC State, Duke, Wake 
 Forest, ECU and other local universities.\n\n“We are excited to cont
 inue our work with The V Foundation as our organization’s ‘charity
  of choice’ and are proud to support its goal to raise money for can
 cer research,” said Michael Olander, President and CEO of Apple Gold
  Group. “The Applebee’s fundraiser for The V Foundation is a way f
 or us to raise a lot of money to find a cure for a disease that touche
 s all of our lives, and in a way that encourages some fun and friendly
  participation among our guests during their visit to Applebee’s.”
 \n\nThe “Show Your Spirit” campaign is a two-day event for The V F
 oundation for Cancer Research, held annually on the first two days of 
 the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament. Last year, the Apple Gold Grou
 p raised $128,000 for the fight against cancer, and plans to do even b
 etter in 2010 with the help and generosity of Applebee’s guests.\n\n
