Giving back in Southeastern North Carolina
Si suggested that I post my blog on here. See, I have been volunteering and getting out in the community for a long time. Ironically, for the last three years I have been on the committee for the American Heart Association, Cape Fear Heart Walk..in fact this year I am Logistics Chair..however, in these years, I have not taken very good care of Bo. I have type two diabetes, gotten up to 330 pounds and frankly, after my Friend Windell literally died in front of me, I had been searching for a way to change.
In December, two friends who love me deeply met Adam Freeman, the head trainer at O2 fitness. Adam and his wife lost thier daughter, Kayliegh, at 6months from heart problems. Adam desperately wanted to give to community and show others how to live better and not suffer from heart disease. He and my friends, Kristi and Ashley, decided to offer me the chance of a lifetime.
They came to me and offered to train me for free and in exchange, I would share my journey in hopes that it would help others. I was ready and so very grateful and the journey began. Adam is amazing, 02 is an amaing gym...and my life has been radically changed. The blog is my day by day experience of what is going on, my change in eating, exercise, and sharing my thoughts and responses.
I am on day 43 and I have lost close to 30 pound and feel better and stronger than I have felt in years..it is a blessing from my God that I cannot fully articulate and my gratitude for Adam...for Kayleigh...for Kristi and Ashley is...adbundant...I hope, if you are thinking about changes..about needing to seek a new direction..it gives you something....it is a great new journey for me!
