Rotary recognizes NHRMC volunteers

I was John Shine's guest today at the Wilmington Rotary Club (that's the downtown Rotary) when it recognized the 810 hard-working volunteers of New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

Eileen McConville, the hospital's volunteer of volunteer services, was on hand to accept the award along with Annie Jacobs, president of the New Hanover Regional Medical Center Auxiliary. Annie is a volunteer in the hospital's emergency waiting room. I profiled her in 2007 as part of our holiday Voices of Conscience series.

So congrats to the volunteers at New Hanover Regional, and I'm sure they appreciated the $500 that Rotary donated to the Hospital Hospitality House.
