Please check out our feral cat cam. http://www.ustream.tv/channel/bo-s-backyard
It is located in our backyard. There are about 7 regulars that stay around. There are occasional new ones that pass by.
We have indoor kitties also but always have looked out for our outdoor friends.

The cats in my photo album are either stray or were stray (feral) kitties.

I'm new here and see little activity in this group - so I'm going to introduce myself and tell you about my cats.
I have lived here 5 years - moved here after my divorce to be near family.
I had four cats before I moved. Lost a beautiful Mainecoon (she had been a feral kitten) to lung cancer at the age of 13. Then lost the Calico to my ex in a divorce (She succumbed to old age last year ago at 17). Next was the lovely black kitty - another feral kitten we took in. Lost her in the divorce too, but she is living a good life and thriving with my ex (he has his faults but is a first class cat lover). That left me with my beautiful Tuxedo - who actually was my first cat. Sadly, I had to euthanize my him a while back. He was 17. I put off getting another cat due to family responsibilities that had me frequently on the move and unable to take on responsibility for another living creature (my parents were actively dying for one).
I've been missing having a cat for a while and feel like the time has come that I can add some responsibility to my life. My granddaughter wants to help pick out Grandma's new cat. We will be looking for a rescue and I prefer an adult cat over a kitten. The only problem I forsee will be limiting our choice to one (or maybe two)!

Gail,
Welcome! I feed a small colony of ferals that just happens to include the most adorable, friendly, loving orange tabby boy who has been neutered and really, really, really would like to meet you to see if you two like each other. I hope to be relocating out of the area eventually and will hate to leave him (and the other orange tabby old man, who may be his dad!) to the whims of the college students who mostly inhabit my apt complex. Please let me know if you are interested in meeting him. Adopt an angel has lots of rescues as does Top Cat on North Topsail Beach and something feline here in Wilmington. If you need help finding the rescue groups, feel free to call and I will try to help you connect.

The group Hillora and I belong to is a sanctuary for ferals and I know we would welcome another volunteer if you get the urge.

Oops! Forgot to leave my number. 470-8841. I have two indoor only sisters who occasionally dein to allow the orange tabby boy to come across the threshold to sniff their catfood bowl, so I know he is ok with other cats. He follows me up three flights of stairs to get a treat if I don't leave food in his bowl every time I get in or out of my car. Looking forward to chatting, if you get the urge.

Welcome Gail...I'm new here too..saw little activity as well. I have two kitties that came to us as feral kitties about 5 years ago. We have been looking for a home(s) for them. The calico doesn't mind people, but the black one is very timid. We don't have people coming to our home most all our family is in Maine. Would love to find new homes for them.

I adopted two cats three months ago.  A brother and sister about six years old.  Their owner died...they were adopted and then returned to the rescue when the new owner couldn't care for them.  They are black and hard to tell apart at first glance, sweet as can be and adjusting nicely to living with me.  Both are cuddly and one (or both?) loves to chew up my newspaper!  My grandkids named them Cupcake and Jelly Bean.

I have two orange tabby brothers who were adopted from a local shelter when they were 3 months old. They are now 3 years old and we all couldn't be happier. I've had to have many surgeries since they came into my life and without them to entertain and "take care" of me I think I'd have gone crazy! Their personalities are so different, but complementary. And there is nothing cozier than waking up on a cold, gray morning with one cat on my head and another curled up around my feet!.
