The WOMEN Warrior Ride!!

On March 31st, 2011 through April 3, Brunswick County will be hosting the FIRST EVER Female Warrior Ride.  I believe we may be the first in the country to have an all gal sporting event.  As you know, this is the first war to use women literally on the front lines, and we believe they have special issues and needs that we are going to respond to.  There will be 1 day of bicycling, a day of kayaking and golf, followed by a "Pretty Day", with facials, massages, make-overs, etc.  The last night…See More

Many of these photos are of last year's wounded warrior ride. This year "The Warrior Ride" will be on Oct. 6 - 9, 2010. Please come and join us welcoming our heroes from Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan to Wilmington, Southport and Oak Island. On the 7th we will cycle from Holly Ridge to Topsail High School, Britt's Motor Sports, New Hanover High School and Cape Fear Community College. Oct. 8th we will cycle from Carolina Beach to the N.C. ferry, cross to Southport, and cycle down Hwy. 211 to Arbor Creek and Winding River Plantation. On Oct. 9th we will have a community ride on Oak Island. 43 and 23 mile routes around the Island. This is our only fund raiser for the ride. $35 for civilians, and $25 for past or present military. Help us celebrate the joy and accomplishment of 3 days of cycling for our nation's "Wounded Warriors".

The Warrior Ride

Mark your calendars for the 5th annual "Warrior Ride". Once again our nation's "wounded warriors" are coming to Pender, New Hanover and Brunswick Counties for an adaptive bicycle ride, i.e. if they have no legs, they pedal with their hands, and this year we have a blind Special Ops Soldier that rides on a tandem. This is a very moving event. Come out when we are in your community and say "Thank you".

Schedule of events

Oct. 7th - 10am Topsail…
