Qualified Professional: I supervise people who provide direct care services to people with developmental disabilities, mental retardation, mental health concerns, and others, plus manage the provision of services through guidance of their personal plans.
I am also starting a non-profit organization/business, TIES (Teaching Individuals Employable Skills) which will provide assistance to people in need of supplemental or pre-job skills in their quest for independent living.
Volunteer interests or needs:
Volunteer with WIHN (Wilmington Interfaith Hospitality Network); have participated in 2 mission trips to Guatemala in which we built housing and ministered to needs; in the past have participated in Habitat for Humanity construction projects in association with First Baptist Church; have tutored 7-8 year-old girl in reading; participated in Mission Possible days through FBC in which we provided labor and assistance with people with household needs and building projects...
Other information you'd like to share:
I am interested in advocating for people who have concerns/needs related to building them up so that they may have a voice and another hand for accomplishing and fulfilling themselves. "Give a man a fish, and he'll eat for a day. Teach him how to fish, and he'll eat forever."
