"Interfaith Refugee Ministry - Wilmington" is a new office of the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program that is responsible for resettling refugees (legal immigrants allowed to work) in Wilmington and its surrounding areas. Refugees are people who have fled their homelands due to religious or other persecution and who are eager to begin new lives of hope and promise here. We help them find housing, furniture and household goods, seasonal clothing, and employment, as well as assisting them to receive medical care, school enrollment for the children, and English training.
"Interfaith Refugee Ministry - Wilmington" is a sub-office of "Interfaith Refugee Ministry" in New Bern, and an affiliate office of Episcopal Migration Ministries in New York City. We are an outreach ministry of the Episcopal Diocese of East Carolina.
We have many opportunities for volunteers to become involved in our work.
These are:
English Tutors, Mentors, Transporters, Furnishing Coordinators, Movers, Office Assistants
We can provide a complete list of needed donations.
