Cape Fear Volunteer Center Seeks Homes to Repair

Do any non-profits in the Wilmington NC area that own their buildings need painting done? Do your grandparents need their house painted inside or out? I have a team coming in and I have some space left to do the work on the most worthy in our community. Tell me their story. Go to www.capefearvolunteercenter.org and fill out the brief application today! Time is running out but I want to fill every slot NOW! 910-392-8180!

Are you still accepting applications? I know of a disabled man whose landlord will not fix his home he has rented for 15 years, although it is in disrepair. This disabled man makes, by hand, tadpole trikes for others and gives them away to needy people. He also refurbishes donated bikes and gives them to children in his neighborhood and repairs the neighborhood children's bikes (all free of charge). You can check out his handiwork on WSN/SNO forums (ThePackrat) and CapeFear.ning.com (Lee). He recently gave a trike to a man that had suffered a stroke and could no longer ride a traditional bike.

Thanks,
