Giving back in Southeastern North Carolina
Setting your networking page up with a little personality. This should work with most sites you are on. A little help for any age because computers can be very intimidating to all ages even me if I‘m not on my own(I have my senior moments bigtime). There really isn't much you can mess up or reset to something else :O)
As you are signing up for a site, it will ask a few general questions that have a * that indicates they must be answered, all others are by choice. Once you receive the welcome that you have been accepted, that is the time to follow the link to check the site out.
You will be asked to LOG IN. Logging in is using the EMAIL address you signed up with. Once you have logged in, go to SETTINGS. The first thing in my humble opinion is to put some sort of AVATAR photo, whether it be of yourself, your pet, a flower, you look for that on your computer hard drive probably under PICTURES. That is on your PROFILE. Just something that makes your page more like you really want to be there and a bit more welcoming. Fill in any more information that you are comfortable with sharing on the internet. Then go into PRIVACY SETTINGS and set WHO sees what EVERYONE, MEMBERS, JUST FRIENDS.
My photos I usually set to EVERYONE but others I’m a bit more discretionary on. Comments and things, I want to APPROVE before going onto my page. EMAIL NOTIFICATIONS, I’m very selective there as well. I don’t want to get email from everything. You choose then remember to SAVE every time you make changes or the changes will NOT be done.
MY PAGE is the area where you chose and change how your page will look to anyone landing on your page. From design, color, font etc. Play with it and do a few changes, you can always go back to their original layout. Always remember to SAVE your changes IF you want them. You are able to chose your WEB ADDRESS (the name for your URL) if you so chose for your PAGE. It doesn't have to be the one there.
CONNECTIONS is where you authorize the use of TWITTER.
