Giving back in Southeastern North Carolina

Wow!
I did not think to bring a camera to our Manna food distribution this morning. As all present would attest, we were overwhelmed with the numbers of families we were able to serve. We fed 102 families groceries, bread and fresh meat in a mere two hours. We’ve never had this many on a regular Saturday. I think we had about 70 in line when we first opened at 9am. We filled our parking lot and the one across the street as people continued to come.

Thank you!
Thanks to all at Closer Walk UMC who came to volunteer. Thanks to all from the college class at 1st Baptist for sorting the donations we received in the last week. Thanks to all the others who are so faithful with their time and talent. Thanks to Mr. Brown at the Food Lion on Mt. Misery for the Feeding America boxes. Thanks to the Town of Belville, Magnolia Greens Social Committee and NBCA for your hard work this week (my legs and back weighed all the groceries you donated - ouch).

Bottom line
We went through all of our meat - $550 worth (thank you Piggly Wiggly for the great deal) – and most of the groceries in storage. The sorting team had to sort and put out most of the groceries donated this week, PLUS what Joe brought up from BFA in Shallotte.

We have TWO MORE distributions before Christmas. We might have enough in storage to feed 20 families. Thanks to some cash donations, we will survive if nothing else comes in, but we were counting on this giving season to carry us through until March or so.

Please let your network of friends know of our work and our need.
I am praying for God to Provide...
