SUNRISE BROADCASTING

HOSTS ANNUAL FOOD DRIVE

Sunrise Broadcasting will host its annual Food Drive to benefit the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina. The drive begins Friday, November 19th at 12 noon, and concludes on Saturday November 20th
at 12 noon.

For the past 7 years we have raised food over a 50 hour period. Last year during that period we raised $2037.73 in cash, $310.00 virtual food drive, and 9,230 lbs of food for a total of 17,550 meals.

This year we want to raise 24,000 meals in 24 hours. During the 24 hour period our personalities, Stanley B from Jammin’ 99.9, Mark from Sunny 104.5, Awebb from Surf 98.3, and Foz and Jocelyn from Z 107.5 will be
broadcasting live from Lowes Foods located at 341 South College Road… for the full 24
hours!

In the four counties served by the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina at Wilmington, 56,469 individuals are at risk of hunger. Of those 6,641 are 65 years and older
and 16,897 are children.

The need for food continues to increase in our community. With thousands of at-risk children, the oncoming cold weather, and the daily battle the hungry face, Sunrise Broadcasting is partnering with
Two Men and A Truck and Lowes Foods to make a difference.

Sunrise Broadcasting is requesting canned goods and non-perishable items to be dropped off at Lowes Foods, 341 South College Road.

About the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina

The Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina is a nonprofit organization that provides food for people at risk of hunger in 34 counties in central and eastern North Carolina. The Food Bank serves a
network of more than 800 partner agencies such as soup kitchens, food pantries,
shelters, and programs for children and adults. In fiscal year 2008-2009, the
Food Bank distributed nearly 37 million pounds of food and non-food essentials
through these agencies. Sadly, hunger remains a serious problem in central and
eastern North Carolina.
In these counties, more than 500,000 individuals struggle each day to provide
enough food for their families. blocked::http://www.foodbankcenc.org/
